Abstract

A new functionalized polyoxometalate by transition metal–amino acid coordination complexes, H 4[Na(H 2O) 2][Cu 6Na(gly) 8(H 2O) 2][BW 12O 40] 2 · 13H 2O ( 1) (gly = glycine) has been synthesized and characterized by elemental analysis, IR spectroscopy, TG analysis, and single crystal X-ray diffraction. Compound 1 possesses a 3D framework, which is built up of [BW 12O 40] 5− building blocks, hexanuclear [Cu 6Na(gly) 8] coordination clusters and Na + ions. Furthermore, magnetic measurements show ferromagnetic interactions for compound 1.
