Abstract

We examine the effect of adding a direct f level hopping term to the Periodic Anderson Model. Using a mean field approximation to a functional integral technique, we impose the strong electron-electron correlation via the slave boson approach. It is shown that, even for quite small values of the hopping, the properties of the model resemble those of a Hubbard model rather than a Periodic Anderson Model.
