Abstract

The main purpose of this paper is the functional design of BM-SC (Broadcast Multicast Service Centre) to support IPTV. BM-SC is newly defined by 3GPP/LTE to support delivering IMS (IP Multimedia Subsystem) over wireless broadband network. Delivering Mobile IPTV (Internet Protocol Television) over LTE (Long Term Evolution) network is requires more complex and more flexible functional operation. A functional design of BM-SC, protocols between network entities as well as main procedures to deliver IPTV service should be defined. In result for a mobile to support the BM-SC functions and radio protocols were defined and implemented. A Functional designing of BM-SC includes the following concepts: Application functions, Service control functions and Content Delivery functions. One of the main problems to delivery Mobile IPTV service is to reduce traffic congestion from server and to increase efficiency of network capacity. In this paper, we analyze the BM-SC functions and describe the implementation of them in computer based mobile test-bed. End of this paper in additional we defined new service control algorithm and its performance improvement.
