Abstract

For efficient and safe operation of EAST, it is necessary to accurately identify and control the plasma current, radial and vertical positions. A plasma control system is successfully used for EAST plasma shape control. In the RZIp control scheme, the plasma radial and vertical positions are evaluated through the E-matrix. A function parametrization method, which needs large volume of database for magnetic measurements and plasma position, is employed to obtain the E-matrix. The database is generated through EAST discharge simulation using the tokamak simulation code (TSC), which has excellent agreement with experimental data. The built E-matrix is verified by test data generated by TSC simulation and experimental data within the error limits.
