Abstract
El artículo analiza el concepto de negritud en la obra poética de Aimé Césaire y su relación cultural con intelectuales europeos y caribeños, especialmente con el pintor cubano Wifredo Lam, cuya convergencia artística y personal duró más de cuatro décadas. A partir de composiciones de Aimé Césaire como el poema «A África», dedicado a Lam, y su análisis a la luz de cuadros como «La jungla,» Arnold analiza la representación del continente africano en el imaginario poético de Aimé Césaire.
