Abstract

ABSTRACT This paper presents a frequency domain based controller design method for the output voltage regulation of quadratic boost converter exhibiting non-minimum phase behaviour. Two approaches of the controller design have been proposed: (1) to achieve desired set-point response and (2) to obtain necessary load disturbance rejection performance. The controller design methods are based on direct synthesis approach in frequency domain. The design approaches do not necessitate model order reduction (since the order of the QBC model is four). To analyse the effectiveness of the proposed control schemes simulation as well as hardware results have been carried out under, that is, step change in input voltage, load resistance, duty cycle disturbance and reference change. The robustness of the proposed controllers has been evaluated by considering 20% perturbation in L and C using Nyquist curve and is also validated experimentally.
