Abstract

In the present study, we attempt to briefly illustrate the Franco–Hungarian military relations during and after World War I, the activities of French troops in Hungary after the conclusion of the Belgrade Military Convention, and their impact on the Hungarian borders established at the peace conference. For this reason, the diplomatic events, which have already been discussed in many other places in detail, will be discussed only as far as their attachment to the military events warrants. The main objective of the study is to prove that the local French military leadership was able, within certain limits, to influence the formation of borders in the region.
