Abstract

In this paper the structure of the wind field in near calm conditions is established. First, the main parameters that characterize the wind field are defined. By considering a bivariate Gaussian distribution for the components of the wind speed, which becomes a circular distribution in low wind speeds, simple relations among those parameters have been obtained. Some experimental evidence supporting the proposed formulation is given.
