Abstract

Communication requirements of different IoT applications are irregular at different scenarios. A set of Use Cases are defined by different Standards Developing Organizations (SDOs). Each Use Case describes the different requirements of IoT applications. The selection of a better protocol for a specific IoT application is not so easy. IoT applications are intended to run with constrained resources. This work assess the performance of Publish-Subscribe model protocols for IoT under restricted wireless access network based on Use Cases and collects the performance parameters. These parameter values can be used to foretell the performance of the protocols under different network conditions with different QoS values. The prior knowledge of the performance of protocols under different restricted network conditions, it is easy to select a messaging protocol for a particular IoT application.
