Abstract
This paper presents a framework for phasor measurement-based component model validation and calibration in islanded microgrids, with emphasis on grid-forming inverters. Real measurements from the Plum Island microgrid facility are used to calibrate the model of a commercial inverter in the open-source phasor-based distribution system simulator GridLAB-D. Limitations of current distribution system simulators in replicating the behavior of commercial inverters are also identified.
