Abstract

Enterprise resource planning (ERP) system, a comprehensive integrated system, has been increasingly utilised in majority of organisations. Its success is noted in some organisations while in others, its failure is a topic for discussion. It is thus important to examine the way ERP system used in the context of organisations. Hence, knowledge sharing is key factor for success of ERP system usage. In this study, a framework of knowledge sharing for ERP system users in small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) is proposed. A thorough review of literature stresses on the factors that contribute to successful knowledge sharing. These are organisational, social capital, individual and IT-related factors. On the basis of such a review, the study's conceptual model was proposed comprising of four main constructs, which are organisational, social capital, individual and technological factors. It is recommended that future studies should conduct on the validity of the proposed conceptual model.
