Abstract
An experimental WebSI framework for construction of interactive information systems is expected to facilitate the collaboration between SE (software engineering) and HCI (human computer interaction) experts. The English language use case specifications and the corresponding WebSI-based high-level Java code, that implements them, may be understood by HCI experts with a modest insight in computer science. The graphical user interface (GUI) employed may easily be exchanged with another GUI implementation. The system may, therefore, be tried with different kinds of GUI until a satisfactory usability is achieved. Such an experimental GUI selection process may strengthen the software engineers' interest in user interface issues and facilitate their interactions with HCI experts.
