Abstract
Abstract : Develping reusable software for avionics is a challenge to software engineers. The task involves foreseeing the future applications, modeling real- world events, using appropriate CASE tools throughout the development life cycle, and providing for storage and retrieval of reusable software components. This report presents a model for developing and managing reusable software components, briefly describes the software process maturity model and the integration of CASE tools/techniques and methodologies for real-time systems development, examines the critical issues in managing software projects, and offers the management a set of guidelines to introduce software engineering methodologies and CASE tools within the organization through a model project which may enforce standards for new projects.
