Abstract

Majority of architecture, engineering and construction projects spent a considerable time collecting and analysing related information throughout the execution of each single project activity. The flow of these related information among project activities is usually more frequent than the work flow itself. Therefore, collaboration is vital to project success and considered as one of the causal success factors in project management and development. Teams with high levels of collaboration and coordination have been shown to be more effective. There is a global realisation of how important to implement and integrate IT in the construction process in order to reduce cost and achieve more efficient projects. On the other hand, the ineffective use of IT in managing information exacerbates the amount of rework that occurs during many construction projects.
