Abstract
The theory, simulation, and experimental verification about a new fractional- <tex xmlns:mml="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" xmlns:xlink="http://www.w3.org/1999/xlink">$N$</tex> frequency synthesizer using delta–sigma frequency discriminator are reported. The new synthesizer not only has good performance, but also is suitable for integration. A unique feature also makes it especially useful for phase-array antenna and smart antenna applications.
