Abstract

The forsteritic materials containing a barium-aluminosilicate glass phase and synthesized from natural talc are most commonly used. A shortcoming of such materials is the narrow range of sintered state (usually not exceeding I0-20~ leading to considerable difficulties in firing the products, in particular, large-size products. Inconsistency in the chemical composition of talc does not permit one to obtain a material having stable properties and makes it difficult to reveal the role of the individual additives.
