Abstract

Abstract The paper proposes introduction of formalism in control system development in order to reach user's mental model. The control interface consists of an external user dialogue and an internal dialogue (explicit) and an external plant dialogue (implicit). The concept of interface independence is supported employing macrocommunication by an application semantics image. Introduced formal method is established on sets, sets of states and predicates. The formal method determines what has to be said about the application semantics image and the external user dialogue. The method is addressed firstly to an enduser and an interface developer. It is a solid basis for development a specification language for interface customisation during system prototyping including all system safety properties.
