Abstract
The article discusses the biological aspects and diversity of secondary forests, Emphasis is given to topics such as the reforestation of logged tracts of land, the biodiversity of the Manu Biosphere Reserve in Peru, the impact of secondary-growth forests on carbon dioxide pollution, and a pledge to restore degraded forest at a climate summit of the United Nations.
