Abstract

SUMMARY The foraminifer Glomospira gordialis (Jones & Parker) occurs in flood proportions over a limited stratigraphical range in the Ampthill Clay, and its horizon provides a useful marker. The incoming represents a significant change in the foraminiferal assemblages, from calcareous to arenaceous forms.
