Abstract

WE ARE VERY FORTUNATE this month to bring you three excellent case reports focusing on unusual clinical presentations in perianesthesia practice. These reports, focusing on delayed postoperative agitation, central anticholinergic syndrome, and severe needle phobia, provide the reader with direct clinical insight into the physiology, presentation, and nursing management of these atypical, yet significant clinical abnormalities. In this time of emphasis on evidence-based practice (EBP), however, one may wonder why we would publish an entire issue featuring case reports.
