Abstract

In this study, we prepared 2 by treating NBD chloride (4chloro-7-nitrobenz-2-oxa-1,3-diazole) with 1 at room temperature in the presence of potassium carbonate in tetrahydrofuran as shown in Scheme 1 and investigated the absorption and emission behaviors of 2 in the presence of various metal ions. The UV-vis absorption behaviors of 2 (100 μM) in 50% acetonitrile in water in the presence of various metal ions (100 equiv) are shown in Figure 1.
