Abstract

Conventional floatation treatment has poor effects on recovering Cu-Co sulfide-oxidized mixed ores due to the high oxidation rate and large amount of carbonaceous mud of the ores. The research results showed that the pre-removal of carbonaceous mud - asynchronous flotation process got a better flotation results than the conventional process. Using the former approach the copper grade in concentrate achieved to 21.2% and the recovery achieved to 88.55% when the raw ore contained 2.63 % Cu, 0.04% Co and 6.63% C. It was also found that using sodium hydrosulfide (NaHS) was more beneficial than using sodium sulfide (Na2S) for the activation of cobalt oxide.
