Abstract
A flat 3He proportional counter for detection of ultracold neutrons (UCN) was developed, whose application to UCN production experiment by superfluid helium has been reported elsewhere [H. Yoshiki et al., Phys. Rev. Lett. 68 (1992) 1323].
