Abstract
SummaryThis paper presents computational models for simulating the behaviour of reinforced concrete structures which exhibit a combination of geometric and material nonlinearity. The nonlineer finite element model is described and methodes are presented for the solution of the nonlineer equilibrium equations using arc-length procedures. In order to examine the the performance of the finite element model end the solution procedures, examples are presented which involve material and geometric nonlinearity with snap-through and/or snap-back behaviour.
