Abstract

The per-phase equivalent circuit of the induction motor is employed universally by industrial motor designers. Design programs routinely calculate the equivalent circuit parameters, and estimate performance using equivalentcircuit calculations. A corollary of this is that designers tend to think of design changes in terms of the effect that they will have on the equivalent circuit components with their effect on performance being consequential. The accurate calculation of those circuit components therefore assumes some importance.
