Abstract

AbstractThe Baldwin‐Lomax algebraic turbulence model has been modified for two‐dimensional incompressible separated‐reattaching flows. The finite element method and the modified turbulence model are combined in a new program. The streamline upwind technique is adopted to eliminate solution oscillations due to coarse element grids. A new computational procedure is adopted to reach high Reynolds numbers efficiently. Preliminary results with experimental comparisons are presented for a turbulent blockage flow problem.
