Among 45 conventioneers who had radiographically diagnosed pneumonia, in seven there was seroconversion toLegionella pneumophilaserogroup 1, 11 had single indirect fluorescent (IF) antibody titers of 256 or greater, and one had lung tissue positive by direct fluorescent (DF) antibody to serogroup 1 but not to serogroups 2 to 4 (2); 26 others had pneumonia without apparent bacterial cause and did not...
