Abstract

An optical fiber cantilever beam (FCB) vibration sensor is proposed based on an air cavity (AC) composed with two single-mode fiber (SMF) ends. The measuring range is from 50 Hz to 192 kHz with the beam length of 12 mm, which achieves a resolution of 1.64 Hz. The structure of the sensor is simple and flexible, and it can reduce cross-sensitive of temperature. This sensor has potential applications in the fields of machinery, aerospace, and construction.
