Abstract

As the green areas within cities are decreasing every year, it is important to survey the present status of the green distribution for promoting measures of the future green control.In 1977 the Suginami Ward Office, one political district of Tokyo Metropolitan had done the green survey by the aerial photogrammetric techniques which could extract the numerical data of green coverage, structure coverage and bare land each unit area and the authors has studied the correlation analysis between these numerical data and the functional factor of the city such as population density, number of the branch office etc. within Suginami area and proposed the future green planning from the result of data analysis.The authors collected and classified the data concerned to green survey which had been done in another Wards within Tokyo Metropolitan and compared and analyzed these data and clarified the state of art of green surveys in Tokyo and proposed the future rational polisy for the green planning in the city.
