Abstract

AbstractThe present contribution addresses the continuum mechanical modeling of ferroelectric/ferroelastic material behavior from a microscopic point of view. An electric enthalpy function for the representation of tetragonal ferroelectrics will be introduced and combined with an energy based ferroelectric/ferroelastic switching criterion. The result is a microscopically motivated material model for the description of ferroelectric and ferroelastic switching effects in electro‐mechanically coupled solids.
