Abstract

In the context of a description of her career with examples from her work and experience, the author outlines Muslim women's ritual, spiritual, and intellectual scope in history, especially with regard to the contribution they made to the development of tradition and to theological thought. An insight is given into the current discussion of women's options for leadership in the Muslim community as teachers, counsellors, and mediators as well as in shaping the future.
