Abstract

Chemical modification of sawdusts with fatty acyl azides was carried out in order to obtain new materials for the removal of organic pollutants, e.g. fats among others, from water. The wood thus modified presented higher affinities than unmodified wood for oleic acid and olive-oil chosen as representative compounds of fats and allowed their elimination from water.
