Abstract

In the present report, we summarize the results of our efforts to create an X-ray counting detector based on silicon photomultipliers (SiPMs) for digital scanning radiography with a sub-millimeter resolution. To realize this detector, we produced samples of pixelated scintillators with a pitch of 250 μm using the laser ablation technology. To measure real detector parameters, we have built a detector prototype based on a 32-channel Omega EASIROC front-end chip and a linear SiPM array. The results obtained in this study demonstrated the possibility of creating such high-resolution X-ray detectors.
