Abstract

The permanent magnet synchronous motor (PMSM) has been widely used in aerospace, electric vehicles and other fields for its high efficiency, high power density and high reliability. Inter-turn short-circuit (ITSC) fault is one of the most common stator faults. If the ITSC fault can not be dealt with in time, it will develop into more serious consequences. In order to improve the reliability of multiphase PMSM, fault-tolerant control method should be adopted when ITSC fault occurs. On the basis of determining the fault phase with ITSC, a fault-tolerant control method on five phase PMSM with no electromagnetic coupling between phase winding based on iterative calculation is proposed in this paper. This method can calculate the amplitude and phase of compensating current in αβ coordinate, and reduce the electromagnetic torque ripple caused by ITSC fault by obtaining circular rotating magnetomotive force at the air gap through fault-tolerant control current compensation.
