Abstract

A hybrid GA (genetic algorithm) and SA (simulated annealing) approach has been proposed for image restoration. The image restoration problem is modeled as an optimization problem, whose cost function is to be minimized by the proposed hybrid approach. The approach combines the advantage of GA for global searches and the advantage of SA for local ones. We propose a fast algorithm for image restoration based on the hybrid GA and SA to reduce the large computation cost. This method uses a simplified equation to calculate the cost function.
