Abstract

As the most widely used titanium dioxide (TiO2) photocatalysts, P25 is not able to absorb the visible light due to its limited light response range. In this work, visible light responsive P25 was prepared via the annealing treatment at 300 ℃ under anaerobic conditions with polyethylene glycol (PEG) as the additive. The annealing treatment with PEG not only endows P25 the visible light responsive property but also creates oxygen vacancy (Vo) favoring the separation of charge carriers, which both contributes to its efficient photocatalytic activity. Our work offers a facile approach for the construction of visible light responsive heterojunction via the annealing treatment with organic additive.
