Abstract

ABSTRACT A facile route to the formyl derivatives of benzothiacrown ethers with different combinations of O and S heteroatoms in the macrocycle involving ring closure reactions of substituted benzaldehydes with dithiols was developed. The effects of alkali metal cations and solvent were studied.
