Abstract

Based on a facile, environment-friendly, simple one-step method in aqueous solution, a novel dumbbell-like silver citrate (Ag3C6H5O7, SC) microstructure (DSCM) was successfully synthesized for the first time. The DSCM was confirmed by SEM, and further structurally characterized by XRD. A possible formation mechanism of DSCM has been briefly discussed based on the morphology evolution of SC microstructures at different growth stages. Moreover, surface enhanced Raman scattering characterization revealed significantly higher Raman signal for the absorbed 2-mercaptopyridine (2-MPY) molecule and super sensitivity by using the as-fabricated DSCM substrate.
