Abstract

The purpose of this paper is to report the experiences of teaching, research and work on community affairs of the Group for Interdisciplinary Studies of the Environment in two Conservation Units of In and Serra dos Orgaos National Park (PARNASO). The activities originated from the project “The role of parks and their social role: the case of the PESET”, and unfold into different undergraduate research projects. The interdisciplinary nature of Environmental Education (EE) is put into practice in partnership with the Itaipu Socio-Environmental Museum with students from a local public school. In PARNASO, since 2009, the trail of Poco Verde has been monitored and results of the study of the impact on the trail contributed to park management. Thus, this report contributes to both students and teachers as well as managers, because there are few published articles on public use of protected areas, and there is a great administrators demand for this type of information
