A Exploratory Study on Relationships Between Ethics of Social Work Practice and Ethics of Filial Piety(HYO) Practice

Abstract

Background: Korea government encourages and aids supports filial piety(HYO), that is traditional family ethics, through the law in a separate way that provides social care to elders by the law of social welfare for elder. Purpose: This study aims to compare ethics of social work practice with ethics of filial piety(HYO) practice by reviewing precedent research. Methodology/Approach: With this reasons, to divide filial piety(HYO) practice with traditional ethics of filial piety(HYO) practice and modern one is examined at first. And then, identified the relationships of them with ethics of social work practice respectively. Findings/Conclusions: Results show that the relationships between ethics of social work practice and traditional ethics of filial piety(HYO) practice are irrelevant but, the relationships between ethics of social work practice and modern ones are considerably related.
