Abstract

This article analyzes the composition of Brazilian international trade in light of economic complexity. The question of the productive structure in developmental constructs and the relationship between economic complexity and international trade was reviewed; The economic sectors and products most exported by the Brazilian economy were identified, and those with the greatest comparative advantage, as opposed to the sectors and products most imported exclusively from developed economies. It was concluded that the Brazilian economy is still predominantly exporter of products of agrarian origin and extractivism, while importer of sophisticated products from economies considered developed and complex, classifying it, to which international trade could reveal and, from the theoretical perspective adopted, as not fully developed.
