Abstract

In a socioeconomic and political context as the current one, that demands the transformation towards other models of society, we fnd that the environmental education in Galicia, the one that could be one of the most powerful roads towards the change, is sufering a worrying setback regarding achievements reached in previous decades (SGEA, 2011). The following article seeks to show a bit of light about this reality, presenting some of the main conclusions of the study of the thesis “The environmental education in Galicia: sociobiographical analysis of it´s construction like feld”, developed inside the Group of investigation SEPA of the USC, with charge to the aids of the Galician Plan 2011/2015 (Announcement 2011). It collects those interpretive points that contribute to the line of refection proposed in the III International Congress of Environmental Education of the Countries and Communities of Portuguese Tongue, around the paradox about the lossing importance of the environmental education in the environmental and educational politics whereas the environmental crisis sharpens. After deterministics ofcial speeches, that argue the dismantlement of the feld about the base of the “necessary” politics of austerity, hide dynamic and fght power that are conditioning it´s path and that turns out interesting to clarify.
