Abstract

It is shown that, for MHD equilibrium configurations in the corona, the plasma transport across the magnetic field drives the plasma motion when the plasma resistivity is taken into account, provided that the equilibrium configurations are not force-free and that the pressure and/or density changes radially from the center of the loop column.
