Abstract

Addressing the non-convexity in natural gas system constraints is important under the increasing installation of natural gas-fired power plants. In this letter, a dynamic linearization and convex relaxation based approach is proposed to handle the non-convexity in the nonlinear compressors’ gas consumption equations and Weymouth equations. The proposed model is tractable and can easily incorporate the flexible transmission pipeline parameters. Numerical results demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed approach and show the effects of flexible transmission pipeline parameters.
