Abstract

In this paper, a dual-polarized broadband FabryPerot (FP) antenna based on a Wedge-shaped Phase Correcting Structure (WPCS) is proposed. The antenna adopts a wideband dual-linear polarized slot-coupled antenna as the feed antenna. The FSS cell structure with positive phase gradient is used as the Partially Reflective Surfaces (PRS) of the FP antenna. In order to further improve the antenna in gain, a highly graded wedge-shaped phase correction structure is loaded in the resonant cavity. It could properly compensate the phase between different reflection paths inside the resonant cavity, thereby enhancing the gain of the FP antenna in a wide band. It achieves the enhancement of the antenna gain at the constant height. It solves the problem of increased height of cavity caused by the process of increasing. Finally, the peak gain of the FP antenna under the excitation of Port 1 and Port 2 is 16 dBi and 16.1 dBi, respectively. The gain enhancement can reach up to 3 dBi after the wedge phase correction structure is loaded. And the simulated 10-dB impedance operating bandwidth of dual-polarized common coverage is 14.08 GHz to 16.52 GHz (15.89%).
