Abstract

This paper proposes a dual-objective modulated model predictive control (MPC) scheme for the point-of-load (POL) inverter in the dc microgrid with a dichotomy algorithm. It realizes three-phase load voltage regulation, dc-link voltage prediction, and stabilization simultaneously. Firstly, the dichotomy algorithm extends the candidate switching sectors from conventional apexes of the hexagon to a continuous circular plane. With an external PWM modulator, a fixed switching frequency (f s ) can be achieved. dc-link voltage is stabilized based on the instantaneous power theory, which is applicable for both conventional FCS MPC and modulated MPC. Finally, simulation and experimental results validate the effectiveness of the proposed control scheme.
