Abstract
The coexistence of the microwave and millimeter-wave technologies becomes the inexorable trend of future wireless communication systems. The corresponding components of the system are required to cover these two frequency bands simultaneously, especially for the antenna. Therefore, a dual-band antenna with large frequency ratio is proposed in this paper for microwave application and millimeter-wave application simultaneously. By using the aperture coupling feeding mechanism, the SIW-based cross slot antenna and the annular ring antenna can be combined easily without deteriorate their own properties. The simulated results shows that the proposed antenna can provide linear polarization in the microwave band (5.8 GHz) and circular polarization in the millimeter-wave band (30 GHz) simultaneously.
