Abstract

This paper focuses on the improvement of output performance for matrix converters (MCs) in a high-voltage transfer ratio by direct space vector modulation (DSVM) method. The output performance is improved by selecting the six nearest active vectors to synthesize the reference output-voltage space vector. The proposed DSVM method can significantly reduce the MCs output current ripple without any extra hardware. Simulation results are provided to demonstrate that the new DSVM method generates lower output-voltage total harmonic distortion (THD) the conventional DSVM method.
