Abstract
MAGINATION is the human characteristic. It distinguishes man from other forms of life. No other species has been able to see so many answers to the same problem, to make large-scale suppositions, to engage in as if thinking, or to put himself in someone else's place. The imaginative leap of such thinking is entirely man's prerogative, and it is this which distinguishes him from the upper primates. It is what makes man human.
