Abstract
I am grateful for the opportunity of summarising for you the results of a large multi-centre placebo-controlled clinical trial of D-Penicillamine in the treatment of severe rheumatoid arthritis. The five centres in England which took part in this trial were — D. Golding at Harlow, J. Golding at Harrogate, A. Hill, A. Camp and A. Mowatt at Stoke Mandeville and Oxford and F. Andrews at Reading. J. Golding read the paper to the Heberden Society in London in November, 1972, and has allowed me to tell you these results.
